The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has made significant updates to disability certificate rules for candidates with disabilities, introducing a new system that simplifies the documentation process. The changes align with the latest guidelines from the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD).
The new system introduces two forms, Form 5 for single disabilities and Form 6 for multiple disabilities, replacing the previous three forms. This streamlining aims to ensure uniformity across examinations and ease the burden on candidates. For those appearing in examinations with notifications issued after October 16, 2024, the updated formats (Form V or Form VI) or the earlier versions can be submitted.
A major relief for persons with benchmark disabilities (PwBD) is the restoration of the 'own scribe' facility for examinations notified on or before December 31. This decision ensures candidates retain autonomy while adhering to strict compliance standards. The age of the scribe must match the qualification level of the examination, with specific age limits for matriculation, Class 12, and graduate-level papers. Aadhaar-based authentication is now compulsory for all scribes registered under this facility.
Additionally, the SSC has enabled the self-slot selection facility for the Junior Engineer (JE) and Sub-Inspector (SI) examinations in Delhi Police and CAPF in 2025 (Paper-I). The selection window for the SI exam is open until November 21 at 11 pm, while the Junior Engineer Examination will be held from December 3 to 6, and the Sub-Inspector Examination from December 9 to 12.
